Our Story Our Values Everything we do is rooted in our mission, to support people to take control of their own lives. To view our full mission statement and aims, click here. Our values can be broken down into six headings: Person Centred The people we support are at the heart of what we do. We believe in empowering people to develop the skills and confidence to fulfil their aspirations. Respect Natural Breaks is a place where everyone feels valued and contributes to making a difference. Kind We believe in the importance of being caring and considerate in providing support that empowers people to live their best life. Commitment We are dedicated to working together to deliver an exceptional service where people are encouraged to achieve their goals and aspirations. Inclusive Every individual has the right to live as a valued member of their community, creating a sense of belonging and ability to positively contribute to that community. Creative We are imaginative and resourceful in finding solutions, which meet individual needs and aspirations, as well as those of the organisation. We are a value driven organisation that adopts each of the six values above into our work every day. We are committed to delivering the highest quality care and support to people to live their lives, achieve their goals and aspirations, and become part of their communities. Here’s a real-life example of our values below. Ethan [pictured above left] draws on support from Natural Breaks. Ethan loves being active, getting out and accessing his local community. Whether it’s a walk, an hour on his exercise bike, a museum visit or a trip to the cinema. Until lately, Ethan had never visited the cinema before. However, when in his local community recently, Ethan made the decision to head towards the nearby cinema and step inside with his support workers – Linda and Lesley. As Ethan had never been the cinema before and didn’t know whether he would like it, Linda and Lesley spoke to the staff at the cinema to ask if they could all sit in a screening and watch the trailers – a try before you buy, if you like. Ethan loved it! So, for the first time ever, Ethan went back to the cinema and watched a film - the brand new 'Wonka'. This embodies our Creative value and shows how staff were imaginative and resourceful in supporting Ethan to try something new, which has led to opportunities opening up for him.
